- What makes the Ohio University online MHA program unique?
The Ohio University online MHA program was built on a very successful on-campus program. It differs from that and most other in-person programs in several ways. First, participants are all mid-career, experienced professionals, like you, who share a wealth of practical knowledge in the courses. Second, we designed the program in collaboration with health care administrators and academic experts who know what knowledge and skills you need to move ahead in your career. All coursework is organized around modules in which you discover and apply theory to solve real life problems. Third, the structure of the program allows you to manage your studies to fit the demands of your professional and personal life.
- What are the qualifications to be admitted to the online MHA program?
To qualify for the online MHA program, you must have at least a bachelor's degree in any field from a regionally accredited institution with a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), at least two years of working experience in a U.S. health field, an understanding of statistics and financial accounting, and excellent English writing and oral skills. Exceptional applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements will be considered on an individual basis. Please contact an admissions advisor at 1.877.823.1113 Ext. 3700 for more information.
- Do I need to take the GRE, GMAT or other standardized tests?
The Ohio MHA program is designed for experienced health professionals who have been out of undergraduate school for awhile. Our Admissions Committee will look at your entire background – your undergraduate work, your work experience and success, your references and why you want to pursue the program. They are looking for evidence of your ability to succeed in the program. A GMAT or GRE score may not be necessary but if you've previously completed either of these exams you're welcome to include them with your application.
- When can I begin the program each year?
There are four start dates each year – Winter (January), Spring (March), Summer (June), or Fall (September).

Most students spend about 15 to 20 hours per week on online MHA related work. The program has been designed for working professionals who need to study at convenient times and places.
